I was invited by the Dumfries & Galloway Family History Society to give a talk on the King's Own Scottish Borderers as part of its 2010 syllabus. So, this coming Saturday I will be speaking about:

Researching WW1 Soldiers: The King's Own Scottish Borderers 1914-1918

King's Arms Hotel, Castle Douglas, Saturday 11 Sep at 2.0pm.

If you are in the area please feel free to come along. The talk will cover my family connections/interest in the KOSB, a history of the Regiment up to 1914 and the local territorial battalion, the 1/5th, at Gallipoli.

Cheers,

Stuart

Stuart,
Sadly I will have to miss your talk due to work commitments.

Best of luck.

I hope to make it but can't be sure. I gave your talk a plug at the talk I gave today.

Thanks to all for their best wishes.

Paul, thank you for publicising my talk; if I had been up in the area earlier, I would have certainly have come along for your memorial talk - another time maybe.

Just leaving for the long drive up.

Cheers,

Stuart
