I am currently trawling through the list of people from the Isle of Lewis who died in WW1 that I think may not be on the CWGC website. At present, the total stands at about 240, which will probably be reduced to about 200 by the time I have finished double checking. |

This estimate is exceptionally high, and unlikely to be the case.
It is likely many of them will be in the Mercantile Marine or other organisations and thefore not qualify for CWGC status. Spelling may also account for others. There is no link between names on memorials and war grave status.
If you want to PM those you cannot find in the end I can check further. _________________ Jim

Moving this to queries and requests because any non-comms would be better in their own threads.
Kind regards
