On a recent trip to Kolkata (formerly Calcutta) in West Begal, India, I found a memorial plaque to casualties of the Argyll and Sutherland Highlanders in 1902-03, on the wall inside St Andrews Church (Church of Scotland).
The reason I was there was becuase I was part of a team undertaking an evaluation of the decaying and little known Scottish Cemetery in the city (scottishcemeterykolkata.wordpress.com).
Hope this is of use to someone out there!
Cheers,
Nick

Nick
Many thanks for posting this memorial and the extra photographs of the cemetery.
I wonder if all these men were lost to disease on garrison duty?
Kind regards

Thanks for the photos. I have been following the story of the cemetery in the press.
