UKNIWM has relatively recently listed a number of memorials to the Lockerbie Air Disaster with the war listed as 'Terrorist Acts'. I am sure that people will have differing views about whether these are war memorials in the conventional sense or to victims of crime. However UKNIWM lists them so we obviously need to include them.
By analogy, I think we should also include their graves on SWGP where these are known and identified.
I have photographed some of the listed memorials and hope to get the remainder.
Just thought that this development was worthy of a general note.

Although I was near Lockerbie that night I am not sure that we do. Are we simply following alll that UKNIWM do? In my view they are not Scottish war memorials or war graves. Those involved ( at least most of them ) had no military link. _________________ Jim

If UKNIWM choose to list a memorial, I do not believe it is for us to say they are wrong. If UKNIWM (or any other respected authority) refers to something as a war memorial then we should list it.
We have never claimed that we are an authority on what is or is not a war memorial (or what should or should not count as a military inscription on a grave). We provide a resource to be available for others, if we think anyone might wish to (or expect to) see it, then I think we should include it.
Better to include something which others can ignore than to omit something that others feel should be included.

In general I do not disagree, but think the Forums are drifting away from what I thought was the original aim. So much is now being added which are not really linked to war memorials or war graves, maybe the names should be changed. _________________ Jim
