Doon – Immediately wthin main gate of cemetery'
I cannot find any village, cemetery or war memorial name Doon - just a river that runs right through the area. Anyone got any ideas where this might refer to? |

I'd guess at Girvan:

Girvan Doune Cemetery - East and west
A77 Henrietta Street, Girvan (opposite Health Centre - south of Stair Park).
The Memorial in Stair park is to those lost during both World Wars. The central arch of Doune Cemetery dates from 1861. Many seafarers rest here, as does William Jackson who composed the music for "The Bonnie Lass of Ballochmyle". |

You're right. I had looked at Doonfoot, Loch Doon and all along the river but it is a perfect description of the Boer war memorial inside Doune cemetery (not the stair park one). That's another off the list then. |
