Plaque reads "To the glory of God and in loving memory of The Honourable Hugh Robertson, 2nd Lieutenant 14th (Kings) Hussars, younger son of Lord Robertson of Forteviot, who fell asleep at Johannesburg on February 1st 1901, aged 21. This tablet is erected by his brother and sister."
This following info from the Anglo Boer War website - Hon Hugh Robertson Second Lieutenant. Died from a fracture of the base of his skull on February 1st, 1901, the result of an accident at Johannesburg.
He was the younger son of the Right Honourable Lord Robertson of Forteviot.
He was born September 1879 and educated at Radley from 1894-96, and afterwards at Eton.
2nd Lieutenant Robertson first served with the 3rd Battalion Queen's Own Cameron Highlanders from March 1899 and was promoted Lieutenant at Aldershot in March 1900.
He volunteered for service in South Africa, and in May 1900, was employed in the Remount Department. He was afterwards recommended for a commission by Field Marshal Earl Roberts, Commander in Chief in South Africa; and in October 1900, was appointed to the 14th Hussars as 2nd Lieutenant, and served with that regiment up to the time of his death.
