Got this post card of 13 ex members of Boys Brigade who made the "Supreme Sacrifice". Trying to identify the individual in the centre of the bottom row - A something.
As you can imagine as it is a post card the images are quite small.
Don't think anyone will be able to make it out but I am hoping someone can identify the uniform, then I can narrow it down.
Thanks.

It looks like either A Cross or A Girvan depending on how I look at it. Can you post a closeup? |

Argyll & Sutherland Highlanders?
Have a wee look here: http://www.theargylls.co.uk/dress.php
"Sporran
the officers and sergeants wear a badger sporran, complete with head and six white tassels
the Pipe Major and Drum Major wear an identical sporran with white horse hair backing and three black tails.
The sporran cantle has three studs on the top and is decorated with a thistle pattern.
This pattern is repeated on the bells at the top of the tails.
The only difference is in the sporran strap.
The P/M's sporran strap is black, the D/M's sporran strap is white - this is to match their respective accoutrements.
the drummer's sporran is the standard issue 'swinging six'
the piper's sporran is brown with three black tails and silver coloured metal tops supported by silver chains
the other ranks' sporran has a black horse hair backing with six white tails (known as the 'swinging six')"

The uniform is the Argyll & Sutherland Highlanders.
Just noticed that while I've been looking up names on Burntisland War Memorial Anne has beaten me to it!
Cheers

Many thanks for your replies.
I am having difficulty in enhancing the signature as it gets distorted when I try. Will have another go. The information on uniform will help.
I have Burntisland names plus another 60+ who are not on Memorial but who have a Burntisland connection. Will go through all these again.
Is there a Boys Brigade ROH, hopefully split by region? |

A complete BB Roll of Honour - I haven't heard of one I'm afraid.
