Hey everybody...
My name is Lynsey Shaw, I'm 18 and I am here to destroy you Just going into second year of my Social Sciences degree and I intend on specialising in Great War history, so any dissertation ideas are gratefully received.
At the moment, I work in a high street sin bin and I am slowly trying to claw my way out. I am also embarking on a work experience placement in the education and conservation department at Culzean Castle on the Ayrshire coast. I really can't wait! If you know anyone that can offer me any work experience in the heritage and cultural sector please give me a shout!
On the topic of war memorials...I think they are beautiful constructions that symbolise different things to different people...more on that later. I am also interested in the different ways people remember and commemorate wars.
I'll have to leave it at that folks because work calls...meh!
Peace, Love and Cookies

Hi Lynz
Welcome from someone at the other Dalry (just don't mention that school grant!).
If you need any help or further info concerning the memorials, just ask - we would love to help.
On the Great War Forum (GWF) a few months ago, a couple of youngsters (about 14 year olds I think) were looking for info on researching their local memorial and were absolutely inundated with help and info so if you haven't already found it, try there as well.

Watch her - she posted 300 posts on GWF in just over a month. She'll be trying to take over here as well!
Welcome to the Forum Linz.

If she overtakes Adam, Spoons, Mark and Ian A in a month I'll buy her a Scottish Passchendale pin.
If not, you can both buy me a pint. _________________

Malcolm,
Sorry to appear reckless but I should have qualified my statement with the proviso that all her postings should be relevant

The 300 posts in a month, sheer boredom. I can't wait to get back to uni only 10 weeks to go or something like that. You will probably never hear from me again!
