There are two holes on Edzell’s Old Course which might be considered war memorials?
Hole 14 is called Majuba and Hole 16 is called Spion Kop.
Both Majuba 1881 and Spion Kop 1900 are Victorian battles in South Africa. The old Course was designed in 1895 so hole 16 must have been renamed but Hole 14 may well have been originally called Majuba?

I'd say that street is a memorial of the Boer War. It's not got any names but Selkirk decided to remember that battle by naming or renaming a street 'Spion Kop'.
Are there any Colenso Road or Ladysmith Streets out there? Or how about a Magersfontein Avenue?
Not just Boer War either. Are there and Balaclava or Alma streets from the Crimean War or Vimy / Loos / Arras streets from after the First World War?
Others may disagree but I'd call a street named after a battle a war memorial.

According to www.streetmap.co.uk there are 36 Ladysmith Roads in the UK, of which four are in Scotland - Annan, Edinburgh, Kilbirnie and Scalloway. Also 8 Ladysmith Streets, including two in Scotland - Ullapool and Wishaw.

Thanks for looking this up ADP. There's maybe a whole little project out there to record streets named after battles.
We've also got Waterloo Place in Edinburgh.
Not just battles though, I know of a street named after a VC winner in Kinlochbervie.

Wishaw also has a Kitchener Street and a Roberts Street. There are also streets named after Kimberley and Mafeking in Craigneuk. |
