The War Memorial for Ness (stretching from Borve in the south to Skigersta in the northeast) is located along the A857 road (Stornoway - Port of Ness) in the village of Cross, a quarter of a mile north of the Cross Inn. The memorial is clearly signposted and easily seen on approach from the south. It is located within a mile of the coastline, and makes for an atmospheric location, with the sound of the pounding waves in the distance and the ever-present wind.

The memorial stands in a walled enclosure, with a small plinth bearing an explanatory plaque.
