A bit wrong, Malcolm. Black Mill Bay is on Luing island, not Seil. The village at the south end is Kilchattan or Toberonochy, didn't notice any church when I visited in 2006

See separate post re Luing.

John

Malcolm was right. It is on the way to Black Mill Bay. To get to Luing you need to take the ferry from Seil and you drive past the junction to Luing and Easdale. I believe the memorial is near this junction but out of sight. It might be near the cemetery which is behind a small hill.

This memorial is in Balvicar near the junction described above and overlooks the old cemetery

The memorial sits on top a small hill in a cow field

There is a concrete path from the lane next to the cemetery

The cross is quite badly weathered. It is hard to see but the wording at the top sats LEST WE FORGET

I have just posted some photographs of several CWGC and family gravestones from this cemetery. They are listed under Kilbrandon Old Churchyard.
The cemetery lies in a beautiful part of the country and is extremely peaceful.
You can see part of the cemetery in the background of one of Adams pictures. (The one with the 2nd WW names on the memorial)
