JOHN McDONALD, ACHNACARRY.

I think that this is the same man who is named on two memorials in Selkirkshire but I can find very little about him.

He's named on the Yarrow Parish War Memorial as:
JOHN MACDONALD. K.O.S.B.
John McDonald – age 24 – Private (29546) 1st Battalion, King's Own Scottish Borderers.
John is named on the War Memorial in Cappercleuch, Yarrow and was resident there when he enlisted (SDGW)
Born 1893 in Kilmallie, Argyllshire and Inverness-shire. Son of Hugh and Margaret (Hardie) McDonald of Rose Cottage, Achnacarry, Spean Bridge, Inverness-shire.
Died of Wounds on17 February 1917 and buried in Ste. Marie Cemetery, Le Havre, France.
Also named on the Megget War Memorial in Cappercleuch, Yarrow.
