(Edit by Spoons
WMR 80347
OS Map Ref NX62900 48369
note that the church is now privately owned with no access so I have used the Map Ref of where I stood to take the photo as this would be the best way to find/see it. end of edit)

Arguably this is a civic memorial since it was dedicated at the same time as the Parish War Memorial. The latter was entrusted to the Parish Council whereas the clock was entrusted to the Kirk Session.
I finally decided that if I were looking for it on this Forum I'd look under Churches.

The following is from a (very) long report in the Kirkcudbright Advertiser of 15 October 1920

The photo and the newspaper report are from Graham and Margaret Wright of www.gatehouse-folk.org.uk

Borgue church has been sold to become a private residence. I think that the tower can be regarded as safe for now though!

Paul,

Sorry to mess you about, but as the church is now sold the clock is now it's own separate report, WMR 80347.

This makes it easier to track in the long term future, when it's fate could be different to the cross.

Stuart
