The Courier & Advertiser for Wednesday 28th Sept 2011 had a story under the heading of DEDICATION OF MEMORIAL TO WAR HEROES " with a photo of The Princess Royal joined soldiers of 1 Scots at the unveiling & dedication ceremony yesterday.
"A memorial dedicated to war heroes killed while serving in the Afghanistan has been unveiled by the Princess Royal.
The princess joined soldiers from the ROYAL SCOTS BORDERERS , 1st Bn , The Royal Regiment of Scotland , (1 Scots) at DREGHORN BARRACKS in Edinburgh yesterday. where she laid a wreath during a dedication ceremony.
The First three names to appear on the cenotaph are CORPORAL JOHNATHAN MOORE, LANCE CORPORAL JOSEPH POOL and PRIVATE SEAN MCDONALD who all died while in Afghanistan.
Major Norrie McKinnon said, " The memorial can be moved with the Battalion whereever it is based and will serve as a lasting memory to those who have paid the ultimate sacrifice ."
During a six month tour of Afghanistan last year , the battalion lost L/Cpl Pool ( 26) who was killed in action following an exchange of fire with insurgents on September 5.
He was serving as part of the brigade reconnaisssance force in Nad-e Ali district.
In February last year , Cpl Moore (22) and Pte McDonald (26) died while serving wiht 3 Rifles battlegroup.
They died as a result of an explosion near Sangin .
The Princess, who is the battalion's royal Colonel , met soldiers and family members before looking on as the memorial was dedicated by the Unit's Padre. Rory MacLeod , and the Assistant Chaplain General , the Rev Dr David Coulter.
The Memorial makers , Stancliffe Stone , have also given a memorial to the 3rd Bn the Rifles based in Redford Barracks , Edinburgh.

Edinburgh - it is in Colinton Parish, so came into Edinburgh in 1920.
