A memorial to the more than 500 Scots who fought against fascism in the Spanish Civil War has been unveiled in Lanarkshire.

A dozen men from the area died in the conflict after leaving Scotland to defend the ideals they believed in.

I took these photos in a downpour, so please excuse the quality.

The memorial is very nice indeed, but the material used is quite reflective and does not lend itself well to photographs.






There is also a bench next to it with another small plaque commemorating the unveiling itself.
