Not listed on UKNIWM

The memorial is in the entrance to St Marys Church Dumfries at OS Map Ref: NX 975 763

Unusually, this memorial makes special mention of the Reverand Robert Gordon Millar and then lists him with the other names as well, so he actually appears twice on the one memorial. There is also an individual memorial to him in the church and another to Thomas Edwards Laurie.

I don't think so, Adam.
Certainly the minister is named on the CofS Memorial in St Giles.

Thanks Ken. I ask because mose of the men are other ranks and I've found in another community that UF tended to attract men in the community who served in the lower ranks or were promoted from the ranks, whilst the officers tended to stay in the established church.

It's a sweeping generalisation but it struck me that there were only a couple of officers listed.

Thanks
