Scout Hall, 39 Queen Street, Stirling
The current building was opened in the 1930s to replace one in Princes Street. At the time all the Stirling troops met in the one hall but now only the 1st Troop meets there. The 1st Troop was formed in 1908.
The memorial is a bronze plaque bearing the inscription:
To the Glory of God and in Grateful Remembrance of Stirling Scouts who gave their lives in the wars of 1914-1918 and 1939-1945.
Above is a semi-circular relief showing three Scottish soldiers.

There is a separate Book of Remembrance listing the members of all scout troops in the Stirling area who fell in both world wars and between the wars. This book is kept on display in a glass-fronted case and is brought out around Remembrance Day so that the present day scouts can learn about the conflicts and what they meant to the scouts of the time.
The names have been inscribed by hand in beautiful italic script.
Thanks to Scott Park, Scout leader of the 1st Troop for allowing me to visit and see the memorial and Book of Remembrance.

Is it possible to get photographs, posted here, of these Memorials? I would be happy to go to Stirling take pictures if I can get details of who to contact and where the memorials are located. Unless someone nearer could do this.
Thanks.
Morag.

Morag, I have photographs but haven't been successful at posting any photos on here so I gave up!
The photos I have are of the Scout Hall itself and of the bronze memorial plaque which doesn't have names on it - they are in a separate book of remembrance.
