Location: St Nicholas Branch, Clydesdale Bank, Aberdeen

I have been meaning to photograph and post these for sometime, I finally have got round to it. The first photo is of the WWI memorial followed by three close up photos of this memorial. The last two photos are of the memorial for WWII employees.

I have not transcribbed the names as of yet, but if anyone requires this let me know.

Donny

Donny

These are actually the war memorials of the North of Scotland Bank. I will amend the title accordingly.

Many thanks for posting them.

Regards

Adam

There is a published book called NORTH OF SCOTLAND BANK LIMITED War Record 1914 -1918 : Aberdeen printed by Aberdeen Newspapers Ltd : 1925

The outer photograph shows the War Memorial with the years 1914 -18 in Roman numberals and on the base "In Remembrance of the men in the Service of This Bank who fell in the Great War "

The Introduction covers details of men released for war service and Unveiling of the war memorial and the Memorial .

The bulk of the book has photographs of the Fallen with bank service info and Military service as well and after the Fallen and Roll of Honour

Adam,
Thanks for that I was unsure what the original name of the bank was, from what I have seen on the back of an MIC relating to one of the men mentioned, the war office was unsure too as this employees address is listed as the "Scotland & Town & County Bank", Market Green, Alford, for all the years that I stayed in Alford it never had a market green.

Keptie,
That is very interesting, I will keep my eyes open for a copy.

Donny

The North of Scotland Bank and Town and County Bank were both Aberdeen based. The T&C Bank became part of the NoSB in 1907.
