Below is the text of a post I made recently on the War Graves Project site.
A further update is that the SWGP site has a new address: http://scottishwargraves.s5.bizhat.com - this is only a temporary measure.
When we contacted the site admin they had mentioned they could move us to the same domain as THIS forum, but we heard nothing back from them so the decision was made to move everything (as I state below) - that will continue. The only thing which is changing is that the SWGP will remain online for the time being.
Once everything has transferred here the other forum will be closed and removed. Currently no new posts can be made there to allow us to move everything over.
As I say in my post below, if you have any questions, please ask.
Quote: | Recently this forum was made inactive due to no posts being made within thirty days.
We contacted the forum hosts, who reinstated it immediately, however they notified us that the site host, phpbbweb.com, would be closing at the end of March due to the few numbers of people using it.
First of all, let me advise that this does not affect the Commemorations Project forum, which will remain.
This meant we had to look at our options, and come to a decision very quickly.
It had been our intention a few years ago to migrate the information here on to the Commemorations Project, and this work had started before stalling.
We will now be reinstating that migration.
All of the cemetery pages on this site will eventually move over to the Commemorations Project. This will be a time consuming process, but we will hope to complete it before the end of this year. At the moment it is only a small number of us carrying out this migration - if you would like to volunteer to help us with this, please do contact us.
If you are not registered on the Commemorations Project, I would suggest you do so. Your membership of this forum will not be transferred over.
If you have not visited the other forum, it can be found here: http://warmemscot.s4.bizhat.com/index.php
If you have any questions, I will try to answer them here. I will post some answers to questions you might already have in the reply to this post. |
