Never More: The Story of Tongue, Melness & Skerray War Memorials
Alasdair Sutherland. Woodend Publishing, Tongue 2000; soft cover 208 pages with b&w illustrations; dedicated to the author's great-uncle Angus Sutherland, 8th Batt. Seaforth Highlanders, KIA 23/4/1917.
Alasdair's research ranged near and far, from local interviews, to Scottish libraries and newspaper archives, and several visits to European war graves.
The book contains biographies (usually 2-3pp) of the 76 named on the memorials, plus nine others; also lists the names on the three local Rolls of Honour now all held in Tongue Church.
Note: I have seen Never More listed on bookfinder "out of print" price $140!! PM me to obtain a copy direct from the publisher at the original price.
(I hope it's OK for me to say this, it is not a commercial advert. but the only way I know to make the book available.)

Mary,

I have no problem with people advertising a book that might interest the forum members.

I don't see why people shouldn't be informed of a book that will be of interest and beneficial.

If I didn't have a copy of this already, thanks to Adam, I'd be purchasing one thanks to your posting.

I'm perfectly happy to allow people to plug their wares.

David

Hi I'm the author of 'Never More'. I'm pleased to see my book has received a mention on the web site. I am very encouraged by the positive feedback I have received so thank you for your comments.
If anyone needs help with similar projects or guidance on research give me a pm. If anyone would like a copy of 'Never More' again pm me and I will get one to you. It won't cost £70 thanks Mary for pointing this out.
Thanks
Ali
