Sandra - can't find either a pension record or a service record for James and without that it would be difficult to prove a link between his discharge and death.
It could be assumed that the loss of his fingers was the reason for his discharge and that the ulceration of the throat was a new illness. _________________ Ken |

Thanks for looking, Ken. I thought the ulceration of the throat MIGHT have been caused by gas poisoning but you are right, he would have been discharged after losing his fingers. |

Sandra - you are possibly correct about the result of gas and, if it had said that on the death certificate, we would have been in with a shout in presenting a case - but...........

Pension card shows cause of death was ulceration of the throat, but another pension card appears to show a different cause of discharge. I don't think this one could go forward. |
