I'm not sure - I'm hoping that as the renovation was still some way off being complete that this was not in place yet and so survived.

This memorial is WMR 70719, it was added to the register after the 1st fire. I added a note last week to the record that the fate of the memorial is currently unknown, following this 2nd fire

Additional Information: Son of David and Elizabeth M. Woodside, of I, Colehawke Terrace, Glasgow. Joined 5th Scottish Rifles in Aug., 1914. Was wounded at Gallipoli in Dec., 1915.
Grave Reference: N663
Cemetery: Glasgow Western Necropolis

Two of his brothers also died in the war. He attended Glasgow School of Art from leaving Glasgow High School in 1906, studying architecture. Struck by shrapnel near Krithia Nullah on 31 December 1915 and evacuated to Blue Sisters Hospital in Malta. Evacuated to Britain with a shell splinter still lodged in his body: three days after the operation to remove it he developed perforated peritonitis and died.
