Dr Ken Bogle and the Midlothian Council's Library Service have identified this war memorial. We don’t have a photograph or location but it does still exist. I have added it to our database and I hope extra information can be added here at a later date.

I was trying to figure out how Lt. W.L.K. Cairns could get killed in action in Germany on 8 December 1945.
It looks like wrong date, wrong country Rolling Eyes

He was in my father's tank when they were hit and Bobby was killed. My father was wounded and taken prisoner. The regimental title should read 1st Lothians and Border Yeomanry, the title adopted by the 1st Line in 1939. The 2nd Line remained the Lothians and Border Horse. After St Valery, the reformed 1st Line became 1st Lothians and Border Horse.
