Kirriemuir Sculptor Bruce Walker carved the sculpture from a 30 tonne piece of granite .
The Memorial was erected along the beach at East Haven where Lt Colonel Edwin Richardson trained the dogs . He lived at Panbride House near Carnoustie and he convinced the Government the Airedale was the perfect breed for war work .

The Memorial funded by donations from around the world is a new memorial
