Maurice Charles Mowbray is also on the Stirling War Memorial.

MOWBRAY, MAURICE CHARLES
Rank: Lieutenant
Date of Death: 23/08/1917
Age: 21
Regiment/Service: Royal Engineers 89th Field Coy.
Awards: M C
Grave Reference: III. D. 20.
Cemetery: THE HUTS CEMETERY
Additional Information: Son of Archibald J. H. and Margaret Mowbray, of Allan Park Lodge, Stirling

He was born in Hamilton; after Ardvreck he went to Radley School in 1910 and to Woolwich in January 1914 before being gazetted in February 1915.

His name is on the Radley War Memorial (as is his uncle's - JL Mowbray kia in 1916). He is also remembered on a family stone in Snowdon Cemetery and on Holy Trinity Church war memorial.

The citation for his decoration appeared in the Radley school magazine: 28.10.1916 The Radleian. Citation for the Military Cross. 2nd Lieut. M. C. Mowbray, R.E.
For conspicuous gallantry and determination, notably when consolidating a crater. His work was destroyed four times during the night by shell and trench mortar fire. He kept his party together, and displayed an utter disregard of personal safety.
