Thank you to John Burnett for downloading my photos onto this website and thank you also to the Black Watch Trust for allowing these photos to be added to this project .

In the Book " A History of the Black Watch in the Great War edited by Major General A G Wauchope ... I found this entry on page 126 : 6th Bn BW : the 6th had become an organised unit and went into camp at Queensferry. Here it was immediately joined by TWO detachments , one from BELFAST and another from DUBLIN . It is of interest to record that this Battalion of Highland soldiers had well organised detachments in Ireland in 1914 and that these joined with the same entuhusiasm as did the men from Perthshire ".
