Great War Room at the Black Watch Museum, Balhousie Castle, Perth.
Officers, NCO's and Men of 10th Battalion Black Watch who fell 1914-1918 named by Lt Col John Harvey DSO.

Again thanks to John Burnett for downloading my pic onto this index and thank you to the Black Watch Trust for allowing me to photograph and add it to this project .

The Book " A History of the Black Watch in the Great War edited by Major General A G Wauchope covers in Volume 3 the 10th Bn BW :

Major John Harvey , 10th Bn Black Watch went overseas to France with the Battalion during September 1915 and the C O was then Lt Col Sir W Stewart-Dick-Cunyhgham, Bart . who was invalided to the UK 1 Sept 1916 ( He was the first president of the Royal British Legion (Scotland) when it was formed in Edinburgh in the 1920's . He died in office after a short time as president .)

Listed in this battalion War Diary and in the Record of Officers service is my namesake Uncle , Lt P W Anderson , 8th BW , 10 th BW, attached to 18 Sqn RFC & RAF wounded in action flying as Obeserver in DH4 daytime bomber on 27 June 1918 . Died of wounds home in Arbroath on 2 Nov 1921 . Obituary in the Red Hackle Magazine of January 1922 . ( Red Hackle Magazine of The Black Watch )
