WMR - 81956OS Map Ref NX 97140 76350

This is one of a pair of newly discovered Rolls of Honour from the former Congregational Church in Irvine Street, Dumfries. The church is now de-consecrated and has been bought by a local antiques dealer who has the memorials for sale. The current and future locations of the memorials are to be confirmed. I have informed WMT about the memorials, in particular that they are for sale.

There is a puzzle about the two rolls. Is one an extension of the other or was this one originally in another congregational church in Dumfries and moved to Irvine Street at a later date?

The photographs are courtesy of Alison Fabian.

was held in the hall of Irving Street Church Monday evening. Thanks to help from Ken, I now believe that the original location of this memorial was the church at Waterloo Place, Dumfries. OS Map Ref NX 97218 75861. The building still stands and is used by the Salvation Army. Note that the term Waterloo Place has fallen into disuse and the address is now 97 Whitesands, Dumfries.
