The church is a little run down, and I believe used only occasionally.
I have been in quite a few churches now, in some of the remotest locations and it is amazing to think that, not too long ago, it was the centre of almost everyone's universe.
It's sad to see how some have gone but the plaques remain as testimony to those peoples faith and beliefs.

I picked the first name on the plaque;
Name: WHYTE, ROBERT BARBOUR
Initials: R B
Nationality: United Kingdom
Rank: Second Lieutenant
Regiment/Service: Black Watch (Royal Highlanders)
Unit Text: 3rd Bn. attd. 1st Bn.
Age: 23
Date of Death: 25/09/1915
Additional information: Son of the Rev. Alexander Whyte, D.D. (Principal of New College, Edinburgh) and Jane E. Barbour Whyte, of 22, Church Row, Hampstead, London. Educated at Merchiston School, Edinburgh; Clayesmore; and Balliol College, Oxford.
Casualty Type: Commonwealth War Dead
Grave/Memorial Reference: V. E. 3.
Cemetery: DUD CORNER CEMETERY, LOOS
