Named on the Lauder Parish War Memorial as:

VISCT. IVOR C. MAITLAND, LIEUT. LOTH. & BDR. HORSE
Ivor Colin James Maitland, Viscount Maitland – age 27 – Lieutenant (94405) 2nd Lothians and Border Horse, Royal Armoured Corps.
Ivor was educated at Stowe School in Buckinghamshire where he was a member of the Officer Training Corps. He was commissioned in the Royal Armoured Corps in August 1939.
Born 1915 in Dublin, Ireland. Son of Major Ian Colin Maitland, 15th Earl of Lauderdale, and of the Countess of Lauderdale (Ethel Mary Bell-Irving) of Lauder. Husband of Viscountess Maitland (Helena Ruth Perrott) of Makerstoun, Roxburghshire, of Thirlestane Castle, Lauder, and of 9 Sloan Court, London who he married in 1936 in Westminster, London.
Killed in Action on 18 January 1943 and buried in Massicault War Cemetery, Tunisia.
