Flight Sergeant Hamish Ian Sandison Memorial
Location: St Mark's Episcopal Church, Portobello

There are two parts to this memorial. Flight Sergeant Hamish Ian Sandison is commemorated by a Sanctuary Lamp in St Mark's Church. There is also a small plaque behind the Lamp which tells you it is a memorial since there is no inscription on the Lamp itself.

The plaque (which was polished so highly it was like a mirror) also lists the other member's of F/Sgt. Sandison's crew.

Flight Sergeant R.M Anderson
Sergeant H. Barker
Flying Officer R.B. Couchman
Pilot Officer K. Dollin
Sergeant G. Granger
Sergeant M. O'Donoghue
Sergeant H. O'Keefe
Flight Sergeant L.E. Snook
Flight Sergeant R.C. Stevens

Flight Sergeant Sandison is also listed on the St Mark's Epsicopal Church War Memorial and is buried just outside the church.

Normally I wouldn't post a war grave but I think it is justified in this case since he is buried just outside the church he is commemorated in twice.

These pictures show the Sanctury lamp. (I hope you don't mind me posting these, but it wasn't clear in the earlier photos).
