Sometime prior to 19th Jan 2015, East Ayrshire Council proposed to 'erect a commemorative park bench in each settlement'. Having discovered this yesterday, I took a quick run across the border and found them in the first 3 towns/villages I checked. The benches are all identical and were put in as a result of a single initiative so I think they might best be counted as a single memorial if others agree?
Individual locations are:
Dalmellington is beside the war memorial.
Patna is as you enter the town from the Ayr direction.
Waterside is in the small garden overlooking the bus stop.
I suggest that replies to this thread can be used when other locations are confirmed.
These photos are of the bench in Patna.

I have seen this same bench being placed in other parts of the country. I think the most recent I've seen was in Tynemouth.
I agree all the ones for East Ayrshire should be listed here rather than in their own threads.
Thanks

These are now on the WMR-
Dalmellington 80432
Waterside 80433
Patna 80434
Waterside I struggled for an NGR, so hope I'm close enough to correct, and Patna I haven't got one at all. |
