I was a bit puzzled about "Corporal (Pilot)"

Hawker Audax Mk.I, K5207, 14 FTS, RAF Kinloss: Written off (damaged beyond repair) 15/9/39 when stalled on night approach to RAF Kinloss, Morayshire. Pilot - Corporal Hamilton Short Happel (Service Number 523039, aged 23) - flying solo, was killed.

By a sad co-incidence his brother was on a Hawker Audax (a bi-plane) when he and his pilot, Flying Officer Roy Wylde Turnbull, were killed.

"No.28 Squadron spent the entire Second World War operating from India or Burma and when the war broke out in Europe in 1939 the Squadron had nearly twenty years of operational experience on the North West Frontier, helping the army to curb the constant raiding in the area."
