Several of my local memorials have four brothers who died in the Great War.
Kells (New Galloway) has four McCheyne brothers
Crossmichael has four McClelland brothers
Gatehouse of Fleet has four Davidson brothers AND
it also has four Patterson brothers!
Just how common is four brothers listed on a memorial? And do any other memorials have TWO sets of four brothers?

On the Penninghame Parish War Memorial in Newton Stewart are Charles, James, William and Peter Stewart - sons of James and Janet (McKeand) Stewart of "Rosehill," York Road and of 13 Station Road, Newton Stewart. James was the Foreman Porter at Newton Stewart Railway Station. _________________ Ken |

Thanks Ken, I wish I could claim that it had slipped my mind but I don't think I was ever aware of it.
