I've put a detailed list of the affected churches and memorials under the Shetland Churches heading. |

I have had an e-mail from War Memorials Trust this morning, that the situation will be discussed at their team meeting next Tuesday, as to whether they are able to take any action. They should have the results of that meeting by this time next week. I gave them a full list of the affected churches and memorials. |

This is the pretty positive response I got from War Memorials Trust-
War Memorials Trust are in contact with the Church of Scotland with regards to the closures planned in the next few years. We have been assured that nothing is happening immediately and the churches will need to create inventories on or before they close. Our contact is also fully aware of the significance of war memorials. Our Director, Frances Moreton, will be meeting with the Church of Scotland in the next few months to discuss this further. |
