I know we have all seen anomolies like this before but the following two casualties appear on the church memorial but not the public monument for St. Fillans;

Additional information: Son of Col. James MacGregor-Whitton (late Royal Scots Fusiliers), of Ardchoille, St. Fillans, Perthshire.
Casualty Type: Commonwealth War Dead
Grave/Memorial Reference: Pier and Face 3 C.
Memorial: THIEPVAL MEMORIAL
Name: DAVIDSON, ARCHIBALD RANDALL
Initials: A R
Nationality: United Kingdom
Rank: Captain
Regiment/Service: Gordon Highlanders
Unit Text: 1st Bn.
Age: 21
Date of Death: 14/06/1917
Additional information: Son of Maj G. H. Davidson, D.S.O. (Royal Scots), of Craigdarroch, St. Fillans, Perthshire, and the late Ethel Maud Fairbairn Davidson. Educated at Ardvreck, Crieff, Glenalmond, and Sandhurst.
Casualty Type: Commonwealth War Dead
Grave/Memorial Reference: Bay 8 and 9.
Memorial: ARRAS MEMORIAL
Given their position and the fact that it is a small close-knit community it is a little strange. |

The RSF are not forgotten by their successors. The museum has a lot of info on them.
one of the Crieff Memorial RSF men who died as acting CO of his unit.

2nd Royal Scots Fusiliers captured Maltz Horn Farm in which action their commanding officer Lt Col P W T MacGregor-Whitton was killed
who died on
Sunday 9 July 1916 . Age 21 .
Magregor-Whitton was an old boy of Morrison's Academy, Crieff. He was acting CO when the RSF attacked Malte Horn Farm. His substantive rank was Captain.
