Hi,

I have started to research the names on the Cairneyhill WW1 Memorial and have identified most of the men.

I have been unable to identify the following man, listed as:

Gr Michael Conoboy RGA

Can anybody help? As he has a rather uncommon surname I thought he would be easy to identify, but not sofar.

Rgds,
Alex

LOCAL SOLDIER KILLED.— Another local soldier has fallen in battle, Bom- Wdier J. Smith, R.G.A. (Michael Conoboy), of Mrs Conobov. Kirk Street. Mrs Cono| received the sad intelligence from the War Office on Saturday that he was killed on 12th September. Bombardier Conoboy, who was a time-expired reservist, re-enlisted at the outbreak of war, and was home for several days four months ago. Corporal John Conoboy. "lack Watch, Ids brother’, was home for the third time from France a fortnight ago. This makes the 31st local soldier from the district to make the supreme sacrifice in the present war.
