A plaque to members of the congregation who died in the Great War.

All 6 of them are among the 7 on the civic memorial in Preston village.

(7th man is James RB Sword, presumably of another denomination).

It was unveiled on Sunday 8th March 1925.

The Scotsman, 11th March 1925

WAR MEMORIAL UNVEILED IN A BERWICKSHIRE CHURCH - At Bonkyl Parish Church on Sunday, before a large congregation, a handsome brass mural tablet was unveiled and dedicated in memory of six members of the congregation who gave their lives in the Great War. Relatives of the fallen were accomodated close to the tablet, and the Preston troop of Girl Guides, under the command of Miss Erskine, occupied the seats immediately behind. The unveiling ceremony was performed by Brigadier-General Erskine CMG DSO MVO of Bonkyl Lodge, who was accompanied by Mrs Erskine. The dedicatory prayer was offered by the Rev DW Mackay MA, parish minister, who afterwards gave a short address.
