This Church holds a quite a variety of Memorials other than those stated on UKWM's site. Unfortunately, they are proving very difficult to photograph - but I'll keep trying!
The following are some of the older ones . . . but I don't know whether any of them 'count.?
OS Map Ref: NS 790 930
The first three are above the plaque to Captain John Aidan Liddell, V.C., M.C. posted in a separate thread under 'Individual Memorials'.
and another . . . (at the opposite side of the church)

Ann,
Your photographs are much, much better than I could have taken and I see no reason why they shouldn't feature here at all. _________________

Although it would not seem to be a common name, there is another memorial posted to a John Blackader (a covenanter) in Dumfries (Troqueer church). 'He died in 1685 "after cruel confinement". Possibly a relative? |

Dear knows how we could find out that info Paul, but you're right, Blackader isn't particularly common.
Derek - do you realise you're just encouraging me (not that I need much!!).
Anyway, on the outside of the church this time, so should maybe in theory be listed as being the Churchyard rather than the Church.
Near this stone lie the remains of Lieut. MARGUS MARR of the Regiment
Who died 4th September 1799 aged ?7
A soldier of undaunted bravery, unaffected modesty and undiminished honour
To whose memory in testimony of their esteem and affection
His Brother Officers have consecrated this monument.
DIGNUM LAUDE VARUM
FAMA VETAT MORI
Anybody any ideas who was in Stirling Castle c1799?
Anybody ever heard the name Margus before? It's certainly a new one on me.

Anne
Is it definitely Margus and not Marcus? It's a pity the age and regimental number have faded away.
There's always the Army lists for 1789 / 1799 if anyone has a spare couple of weeks to pour through them!

Adam, it probably is Marcus - I zoomed in on another photo but it's not really any clearer - the plaque is at quite a height.
Isn't it strange how you can look at something a dozen times and keep seeing the same thing, then when someone points out that it might be something else - it suddenly becomes obvious!
I thought Margus was a weird name!
What a numpty! |

Memorial located in the Church of the Holy Rude, Stirling.
I haven't been able to find out where West Parish Church is/was in Stirling yet - it may either have been demolished or re-developed.

Holy Rude Church was split in two with a dividing wall. They were known as the East Parish and the West Parish. They united in the 1950's and the wall was removed. |
