Among Edinburgh sculptor Alexander Carrick's business papers lodged with the National Monument Record of Scotland Office, Edinburgh, Manuscript Collection 22, there is a copy of a letter from Carrick to the Aberdeen architect William Kelly A.R.S.A dated 31st January 1923 confirming that he had started the work on the North of Scotland Town and County Bank, Aberdeen memorial. I take it this is the memorial in the first photographs. By the looks of it the tablet is red Peterhead Granite with a grey Aberdeen granite along the top and I would think an Aberdeen firm would have been responsible for this with Carrick doing the bronze work.
