SCOTSMAN 17/3/1916 p.6
First Class Engine Room Artificer Thomas Boyle died on board a Torpedo Boat. He was a reservist, and when mobilisation took place was employed in the fitting department of Messrs G. & J. Weir (Limited), engineers, Cathcart. He resided with his sister at 87 Minard Road, Shawlands.

Or it could be this Thomas Boyle?

(Glasgow Herald 9th Dec 1914)
"A Pollokshaws man named Thomas Boyle has, it is officially announced, died from wounds in the hospital at Boulogne. He served a full term in the Hussars, and on the outbreak of the war enlisted in the Royal Scots Fusiliers. Private Boyle, who leaves a widow and 5 children, resided in Pollokshaws, where he carried on a fruit business until recently, when he removed to Crossmyloof."

The memorial at St Mary Immaculate Church, Pollokshaws has both Seaman Thomas Boyle and Private Thomas Boyle. The parish at the time would cover not only Pollokshaws, but Shawlands, Thornliebank, into Cathcart etc.
The Minard Road address given for Seaman Boyle would be outwith the Pollokshaws area, whereas the mention of having a shop in Pollokshaws makes it seem to me more likely that it is the Private Thomas Boyle, Royal Scots Fusiliers, who is referred to on the Pollokshaws memorial.
Perhaps more significantly, the Pollokshaws News newspaper, in April 1917, published a roll of honour to that date and this Thomas Boyle is included.
(Maxwell Street, a post war address, roughly speaking, was the stretch of what is now Pollokshaws Road between Shawlands Station and the Haggs Road junction.)
