In Marr Cemetery up at Stirling Castle there are 3 large'ish stones, each of them bearing umpteen names.
1.
I think this might be a CWGC stone - I'm not sure, I haven't seen anything like it before. Inscribed on it are the names of 20 men all killed in WW1. All these men are listed on CWGC as being buried in Marr Cemetery, in the same section as this stone is, but not in the same exact spot. None of them have separate CWGC stones. I don't know yet whether any of them have family stones as I haven't transcribed all the photos yet.
2.
This stone is "In memory of the undermentioned N.C. Officers and Private Soldiers of the 92nd Gordon Highlanders whose remains lie interred beneath" Inscribed on the stone are the names of 11 men who died between 1838 and 1884. It gives their service numbers (although most of them are too eroded to de-cypher), rank, name and dates of death which are also pretty badly eroded. There are no causes of death.

This stone is "In memory of the undermentioned N.C. O. and Men of the Depot Argyll & Sutherland Highlanders whose remains lie interred here" Inscribed on the stone are the names of 16 men who died between 1884 and 1903. It gives their service numbers rank, name and dates of death. Again there are no causes of death apart from one man who drowned in Linlithgow Loch in 1898.
My question - do any of these come under the 'memorial banner'?
