A small wooden shield bearing the crest of the Scots Guards and bearing the inscription below is displayed in the Parish Church at Wigtown, next to the UF Church Roll of Honour. It reads: In memory of Gdsmn Gilbert Muir Heron 2nd Bn Scots Guards died suddenly in Cyprus 13 June 1986 and buried at Dhekilia Military Cemetery, Cyprus.

I do have a photograph of it if anyone wants it - Photobucket is making is difficult to display it.

There seem to be quite a few photographs on the forum, hosted by Flickr.

This is now entered on the system as WMR 76916.

I have also now added all 'Additions to Gravestones' for the Isle of Whithorn, from Wigtown to Glasserton. That has pushed the number of D & G records on the WMR system up from exactly 600 to exactly 700.
