Location: Royl Field, Sandwick.
Structure: Stone with bronze plaque.
Date Erected: unknown.
War: World War 2.
Names on Memorial: 2
OS Map Reference: HU392285
UKNIWM No.: Not listed.

Names on memorial:

Pilot - F7Lt John A Reid RAF 48900
Navigator - F7O Westley D Irwin RCAF J16115

As well as the memorial some remains of the aircraft can still be seen at the site. Further information and pictures of the remaining wreckage can be seen here: http://shetlopedia.com/Royl_Field_Mosquito_Memorial

Access to this memorial is by a 5Km walk from the main road above Sandwick. Although there are markers indicating the path to the site it would not be advised to undertake a visit to the site in misty or foggy weather as the markers are fairly far between and walking conditions can be treacherous.
