So the Goodwins were brothers.

The Auckland Museum site is "playing up" this morning but when I searched for John Goodwin last night it did confirm that he was a "Kirkie" man.

The 1901 census has Charles Goodwin 41, Mary Goodwin 38, John Goodwin
17
, Charles 15, Robert 15, Mary 7 and James Goodwin 5.

WMR 73251. The record has been significantly enhanced this morning, as it was originally created from War Memorials Trust information.
