The memorial is well kept and deserved its recent award:

Roll of honour for Skye and Lochalsh by Graham Ross . Copies at Portree library and inverness library.

Lochalsh War Memorial

The Memorial is situated to the east of the village of Reraig on a rock face on the landward side of the A87 and is within a landscaped area of ground, which has been fenced off in recent years. It is in the form of a white marble tablet , which originally bore the names of 61 men from Lochalsh who had died in the Great War. There seems to be a mistake in the engraving of names as the name Blair appears twice , the second time with no details and would appear to be a repeat of the name above .

The Lochalsh War Memorial was unveiled on Thursday 29th December 1921 by Miss Livingston of Lochalsh , the Address was given by Mr A Linton Logan of Auchteryre. The Service held , was conducted by the Reverend J MacLean, the Parish Minister , who was assisted by the Reverand MacRae of Ardelve Free Church . It was originally erected onto Sgeir an Eioin , the rock face which is opposite the East Lodge at the junction of the A 87 and the back road to Plockton .
