Wigtownshire Free Press (15/11/1918): Second-Lieut Hugh Wilson, Cameron Highlanders, was killed in action on 17th October. Aged 27, he was the third son of Mr and Mrs Thomas Wilson, Ballachtoul, Girvan. He was educated at Girvan High School, and when he enlisted was a science student at Glasgow University. He served through the Macedonian campaign, and in December 1917 got his commission. His brother made the supreme sacrifice less than a year ago.

Ankle was swollen and apinfull with every movement, Had X Ray but no fracture. Presnt condition - Some thickening, little pain, very little tenderness.
Discharged to 43rd Battalion, East Sandling, Fit for duty.
Medical record reads like a book.

Robert Charles Dunbar is not on the CWGC Website but he is on the Library and Archives Canada. www.collectionscanada.gc.ca.
Served 4 Years 8 Months before being demobilised on the 9th May 1919 at Hamilton, Ontario aged 30 years and 5 months

There is a letter attached to his brother's service records enquiring about relation to a "Thomas Dunbar" deceased 1950 with a view to inheritance of Thomas's estate.

Sorry James but I think that John Foster McCreadie 2337 & 295367 who died in JUNE 1918 is the man named on the Ballantrae War Memorial.
