Wigtownshire Free Press (9/5/1918): Mrs McQuaker, 47 Montgomery Street, Girvan, has received intimation that her husband, Private Thomas McQuaker, Highland Light Infantry, has been posted missing since 25th March 1918. Orivate McQuaker enlisted in October 1916 and was sent to France in January 1917. Prior to enlistment he was employed with Mr T Blair, builder, Girvan.
