Thanks for posting this.

I could just make out the date of death on the video, it is this man.

Name: REID, JAMES
Initials: J
Nationality: United Kingdom
Rank: Private
Regiment/Service: Royal Scots Fusiliers
Unit Text: 1st/5th Bn.
Date of Death: 12/07/1915
Service No: 7547
Casualty Type: Commonwealth War Dead
Grave/Memorial Reference: Panel 72 to 75.
Memorial: HELLES MEMORIAL

It seems like he died in Gallipoli on the 'inglorious' 12th.

I have seen these certificates before and normally I would say that they are not war memorials. But in this case it was framed and placed in his former place of work thus it was intended to be a memorial. I would be interested to hear others views and I would also like to get a decent photo of it and record where it ends up.

Derek, that is very similar to the one Dan found for me to my great uncle, unfortunatley though mine is not quite in that condition. Reids scroll is a brilliant piece of history, I wonder where it will end up.

In my view, this is clearly a memorial, under the National Definitions. Unfortunately there is not enough information to raise a record for it, from this film.
