Named on the Moffat War Memorial in Dumfriesshire as:

DUNN, SAPPR. J. ROYAL ENGINEERS

James Dunn – age 22 – Sapper (2362) 1st (Lowland) Field Company, Royal Engineers.
James and his Company of the Territorial Force were mobilised in August and joined the 1st Division in Belgium in December 1914.
Born 1894 in Moffat. Son of Alexander (former church officer at St. Mary's, Moffat) and of Mary (Marchbank) Dunn of 43 Corswall Street, Coatbridge.
Died of Wounds on 21 July 1916 and buried in Dantzig Alley British Cemetery, Mametz, Somme, France.

George is named on the Galashiels War Memorial in Selkirkshire as:

L-CPL. G. HENDRIE. Highland Light Infantry
George Hendrie – age 31 – Lance Corporal (5929) 12th Battalion, Highland Light Infantry.
George had resided in the Bank Buildings in Coatbridge, Lanarkshire and had been employed in the Lochrin Ironworks.
(Source: Airdrie & Coatbridge Advertiser 10/6/1916 p.6)
He was a structural engineer living at Canal Street, Coatbridge when he married in 1914.
Born 1884 in Coatbridge, Old Monkland, Lanarkshire. Son of John and Margaret (Murray) Hendrie of 239 Main Street, Coatbridge. Husband of Jane or Jeanie (Howieson) Hendrie of 260 Halliburton Place, Galashiels who he married in 1914 in Galashiels.
Killed in Action on 21 May 1916 and buried in Bois-Carre Military Cemetery, Haisnes, France.

His brother Matthew Eliot Hendrie, age 27, Private (8148) 2nd Battalion, Highland Light Infantry died of his wounds on 8 December 1916 and is buried in Boulogne Eastern Cemetery, France.
